kiera’s fruit salad, andrea’s delicious quiche, waffles and bacon

all the makings for strawberry napoleon….yum!!
radiohead house of cards - video
radiohead has taken it to the next level - as they always do - and created a video for their song “house of cards” using no cameras or lights…they used lasers and proved that to make an awesome video, they don’t need no stinkin’ cameras!
when i read about it on gorilla vs. bear this morning, i was just so amazed at how they did it and why thom thought it would be such a powerful video.
“I liked the idea of making a video of human beings and real life and time without using any cameras, just lasers, so there are just mathematical points — and how strangely emotional it ended up being.” -Thom Yorke
watch the making here:
and here is the official “house of cards” video:
dear kanye,
i was reading consequence of sound and they featured this song by ben sollee. he wrote it after the fiasco of kanye west’s “show” at bonnaroo. it’s hilarious - and SO true!

Dear Kanye
You’re letting me down
You got the biggest bat in the game
But you can’t hit the ball
It’s the heavy weight match
And you’re off in the corner punchin’ at the wallDear Kanye
Don’t let us fall
You’re at the diplomatic dinner
With fine china and all
A silver fork in your hand
But still you spit and gnawGreatness is a glass elevator, and so you are, if I recall
So use it make some real change not just advertisements at the mallNo one needs a light show
Just good flows
You don’t need a light show
Just good flowsDear Kanye
Keep icin those knees
And when your paycheck comes
Will you remember your busted screen
Your crown of thorns is sensational
But it’s not what makes you bleedCause there’s a young man
His rhymes set him free
He loves what you do but he can’t seem
To shake the septic sanction of the streets
He’s reading your blog and all he finds are commercials
For stuff he’ll never needYou have a good idea now put some shoes on its feet
And try to make your Loop Dreams a real priorityYou don’t need a light show
Just good flow
No one needs a light show
Just good flow
You don’t need a light show
Just good flowDear Kanye
It’s time to let go
You’ve gathered the moss of
More than a dozen sullen stones
People want music on a real stage
Not the one you bring along——
you can also listen to it here.

if you’ve been reading and following along, you know i went to visit my sis-and-brother-in-law (stephen’s sister & her husband) in california the weekend before last. we had a most amazing visit!! they live right in the heart of hollywood, so there was never a dull moment. we ate great food, went to great places, and did some great shopping!! all with two of our most favorite people, ever, in the history of the world.
while i won’t post all the photos (waaay too many for that), i did want to share a few things…
stephanie and i did get to eat at the little next door i talked about before. it was absolutely fantastic!! the food was delicious and you can’t ask for a more beautiful setting.

i had the french toast…amazing.

stephanie’s eggs benedict was equally delicious…

last week before we left on our trip to california, stephen was leaving our place downtown and drove by the old homeless shelter (it has recently been replaced by “the bridge” which is fantastic). he saw they were throwing out a bunch of stuff including some furniture - he found these chairs; they are herman miller vintage eames fiberglass arm chairs!!! talk about diamonds in the rough. so now we have five of them in our loft - absolutely beautiful and so much fun! i love them.

i married my best friend, and the love of my life.
on the most beautiful day, with our closest friends and family to share and celebrate.
it was magical. and today, somehow, i love him even more. i didn’t even know that was possible.
