mini-cali-recap
if you’ve been reading and following along, you know i went to visit my sis-and-brother-in-law (stephen’s sister & her husband) in california the weekend before last. we had a most amazing visit!! they live right in the heart of hollywood, so there was never a dull moment. we ate great food, went to great places, and did some great shopping!! all with two of our most favorite people, ever, in the history of the world.
while i won’t post all the photos (waaay too many for that), i did want to share a few things…
stephanie and i did get to eat at the little next door i talked about before. it was absolutely fantastic!! the food was delicious and you can’t ask for a more beautiful setting.

i had the french toast…amazing.

stephanie’s eggs benedict was equally delicious…

independence day
i just wanted to wish everyone a happy 4th of july (tomorrow, of course)! i hope you have a fantastic weekend and take time to celebrate … and while you’re doing that, please take a moment to be thankful for those who continue to fight for our independence as well as others’. we can hope that one day soon they will have to no longer…
these images are from the veterans for peace display in protest against the war. these are located on santa monica beach in california.

…from tomorrow i’m heading out to los angeles to visit two of my favorite people ever in the history of the world: stephanie & tomy - stephen’s sister & her husband. i am so incredibly excited and will probably blog a lot more about it, but just wanted to show you one of the things i plan on doing while i’m there.
stephanie and i will head to the little next door for brunch - i read about it on jeana sohn’s blog recently. the food looks delicious, and how cute is the place?! i can’t wait.
a new favorite
while perusing one of my faves, d*s, this entry from the guest blog section really caught my eye. i love their cute place and saw that the writer, jeana sohn, has her own blog. i love it. it’s so sweet, simple and pretty. i aspire to have my blog be something so intriguing that others are drawn to it as well. wish me luck with that.

it was just announced that prince will be headlining the coachella valley arts & music festival this year. the festival, only weeks away, was being bashed for having a less-than-stellar lineup as of yet. well, they just took the cake. prince will be taking the saturday night headlining spot that was originally thought to be for portishead. well yay for my friends who are going!! take a picture, buy me a t-shirt, and soak up that desert sun for me!!
update: at first i thought that goldenvoice had this up their sleeve all along and waited because of the stature of the headliner - however, i’m hearing that this was a very last minute attempt to sell tickets and make up for their sub-par lineup. word on the street is that they paid prince $4.8 million dollars!! holy cow. i guess it really does pay to be prince.
