i’ll take the stairs
i saw this on swissmiss’ flickr photostream and couldn’t help but laugh…reminds me of just a few months ago when jennifer and i got stuck in our office elevator - quite the experience!
pure & pretty
off to a better start today - yay! i saw these beautiful furniture pieces on d*s this morning and had to share. they are from pure by ami mckay - an eco-friendly designer using “green” principles for building each piece: sustainability, health & awareness. enjoy!

it’s not usual that there is a lot i have going on during the week, but tonight is especially exciting because there are so many fun things happening! i will be heading to the ranger’s game tonight at 7 - this will be my first time to experience the “suite” life and i’m looking forward to it…now if they can only beat those indians again…
also tonight is the cavern’s anniversary party! it’s free and there will be food from daddy jack’s and lots of music. it’s on lower greenville between richmond and ross.
and last but NOT least - french kicks are playing tonight at the granada theater. they are such a great band and if you haven’t heard them, check it out!! tickets i believe are still only $10. the granada is also on lower greenville, the show starts at 9 and you will not be disappointed.
i’m definitely trying to make it up to the show after the game. hope to see you there!!

i like to think that i’m a relatively healthy eater. i watch what i eat and try to have lots of fruit and veggies on hand and stephen and i enjoy cooking a lot together. i was trying to find out what the best foods are for you (and maybe you already know) but i came across the list of “superfoods” on webMD. here they are:
- beans
- blueberries
- broccoli
- oats
- oranges
- pumpkin
- salmon
- soy
- spinach
- tea (green or black)
- tomatoes
- turkey
- walnuts
- yogurt
lucky for me i LOVE almost everything on this list. also i’ve been making frequent trips to the local farmer’s market and there is an abundance of berries up there right now and that makes it much easier. and while i’m on the subject, if you’re in the market for getting more fit, yahoo had a great article listing what the best “flat-belly” foods are, and it almost mirrors the superfoods:
- spinach
- yogurt
- tomatoes
- carrots
- blueberries
- black beans
- walnuts
- oats
the best thing about the yahoo list is that it also gives you substitutes in case you don’t have those exact foods handy. thought some of you would enjoy that!
